A complete RFQ should define application, diameter, pressure, length, coupling, customization, packaging, quantity, destination and required documentation.

What to Include in an OEM Water Hose RFQ
A useful OEM water hose RFQ lets a supplier check technical fit before quoting. At minimum, provide the application, transported medium, flow or pump information, inside diameter, working and surge pressure, total and roll length, coupling, operating environment, customization, packaging, quantity, destination and required documents.

1. Application and operating conditions

State whether the hose will be used for irrigation, drainage, dewatering, mining, pump discharge, suction, micro-spray or fire-support duty. Include the transported medium, temperature, route, elevation, expected movement, ground condition and outdoor exposure. A product name without duty conditions is not enough for selection.

2. Hydraulic and dimensional requirements

List required flow, pump outlet, inside diameter, continuous working pressure, possible surge pressure, total route length and preferred individual roll length. If values are not final, mark them as open items rather than replacing them with guesses.

3. Connection requirements

Specify the coupling or fitting type, size, material and connection method. Note whether clamps, crimping, flanges or other interfaces are required and whether mating equipment already exists on site.

4. Material and construction

Describe the preferred hose family only when it is known: PE woven layflat, PU- or PVC-lined woven hose, PVC layflat, micro-spray hose, or suction and spiral hose. Ask the supplier to state the proposed liner, reinforcement and pressure class in the quotation so alternatives remain comparable.

5. OEM and private-label details

Provide requested color, printed wording, logo file, print repeat, roll length, label language and packaging style. The source material lists customization such as color, length, brand logo and packaging; final availability should be confirmed against the order specification.

6. Commercial and logistics details

Include order quantity, delivery destination, required trade term, target schedule and any carton, bale, pallet or roll-packaging requirement. Separate confirmed requirements from preferences so the quotation can show where options affect cost or lead time.

7. Quality and documentation

List required inspection reports, test reports, certificates, marking, sampling or pre-shipment checks. Ask which values are production specifications and which are test results. Do not treat a generic family description as evidence for every model.

What is the most important missing RFQ field?

Application and working pressure are the two fields that most directly block technical shortlisting. Add diameter, route length and coupling before asking for a final quotation.

Should an RFQ specify burst pressure?

Include any burst-pressure requirement or test rule separately from continuous working pressure. The two values must not be used interchangeably.

Can price be compared before specifications match?
